makes sense when you put it that way! it's just, "dokja is unlucky when he smiles" implies that the smile brings him bad luck. that's why it sounds like 'unlucky' might have been a mistranslation for 'unpleasant' or something similar.

i can feel the rasp in her throat as she screams. i can taste the iron in her mouth and hear the distant yet deafening hum of apocalypse. something about this specific paragraph just paints a vivid image of the moment in my mind and it is suffocating.

back in the "kim dokja's love" chapters i think, jung heewon said she thought yoo sangah was the most likely candidate to be dokja's most loved one. it was also heewon who teased these two that one time back in seoul when she caught them holding hands (this was sangah comforting dokja right after he revealed his family past to her)

this line stings a little because i sometimes feel like this after a while of isolating myself from others. and i'm not the only one in my circle to relate to this either. it's so easy to begin to feel like you don't matter when you see that people keep on living normally without your usual presence. it's so easy to equate people coping and adapting to a daily life without you, to them not missing you at all. brains make stupid, awful conclusions like that. it's why i think it's good to remind people that you like and care about them, even if it's little things. and yeah, people's stories will continue when you stop being part of them, but that doesn't mean you were insignificant. no matter how small, you left a mark on that person. an 'outsider' is a cruel understatement of your involvement.
