Bruh, this feels like X-Men meets My Hero Academia, and I’m honestly kinda torn. 😂 I get it, Jayden’s got these crazy psychic powers, but the way the invisible dudes were stalking him and the whole “you’re being hunted” vibe? It’s giving me major X-Men vibes—like the guy’s about to join a secret superhero team or something. I'm not sure if the writer thinks he’s a Marvel director writing some big X-Men level story or if this is supposed to be My Hero Academia 2.0. 🤦♂️ Honestly, if this turns into some campus arc where Jayden goes to school to “learn to control his powers,” I’m out. I’m already tired of My Hero Academia, I don’t need another one of those. 😬 But since the volume is called The Russian Civil War Arc, I’m curious enough to stick around and see where this goes. If the story actually goes in that direction, I’ll give it a shot, but I’m not here for another typical “hero’s journey” setup. Fingers crossed, I guess.
To be honest, I actually didn't think much of this novel at first since I'm not a fan of romance novels. But something drew me to it. I found things that I could relate with in real life. Maybe it's because I'm a Nigerian and the use of the vocabulary is purely Nigerian (English and broken English - pidgin) is something I hear on a daily basis. Also, the behaviours and attitudes of the different characters are very realistic. For example, the character of her Mother. I just love how the author portrays Nigeria correctly in this book.
This isn't physically possible in a Nigerian household. If you're not busy, you must work till nighttime. Who cares if you're reading a novel? They will just insult you for reading the novel instead of your schoolbooks.
This is a true Nigerian mother. It is as if you know my mother. Everything she said is exactly what mine would have said.

So far, no grammatical errors at all. And the plot seems nice. In my opinion, I'd love to see when Jazmyne becomes Ms. Ryder. Shawn's mother should just tell death to wait since her daughter-in-law is on the way. Also, from what I researched from Google, a pink star is estimated to be worth $71 million. Why doesn't she just sell the ring to make up the money?
Finally you're back.
