As of the date I started writing they were 7 to 7, having to choose I preferred Massimo because he has several epic sentences that can be used in the story. Yes, in fact after writing the first chapter on the wave of emotion I thought better of it. As you will read in chapter 3, you will see that there is an intervention to ensure fidelity but they are not robots without thoughts and emotions! As for the twist on the unfortunate people, yes good idea however I think when they got the power they have they will be convinced to follow it? Will they betray him?
