If you know the game then you'll know Oran Berry does not work on poision. It heals but won't restore yourself to the previous state. So you will have to suffer from the pain it inflicts. By the way, this is a fan fiction not some real world scenario. The protagonist is not an all knowing being or smart. If you have a problem with his intellect than you're criticizing mine, but it's fine. If the story is not what your looking for then why even comment😐

Yes, I also realized that after having already written the chapter, but then considering I can't actually let all of them understand one another, cause that would mean I need to break the whole story down starting from Rattata. So only certain pokemon will understand one another. The only reason I'm actually not letting Torchic understand Chamander now is to cultivate their relationship. An understanding Torchic won't make a good target to be kept in the dark and if she did understand, I'd probably have to change her personality.

All usable items can be physical or in this case virtual. If the protagonist has to heal someone using Oran Berries than it must be physically summoned. If he wants to heal himself than he can either virtual heal him through the system or summon an Oran Berry and eat. Eating it physically can increase his fullness as seen in chapter 2. Eating virtually through system does not increase fullness. By fullness I'm talking about hunger level.
