Was it random? It was, but in the original story it was like that in the parallel universes, some of the evil Marks had almost the same line of events, sometimes even worse. In some, Mark kills his own father and joins the empire, like "What? But you killed your father so you wouldn't have to join the empire and in the end you joined?"

This doesn't make any sense, you're saying that a technique that doesn't use mana only works on someone who has mana, it's the extraction of the person's shadow/soul. At no point in the manga does it say that the dead being needs to have mana, and even if it did, this is a fic, bro, it's like you giving a sharingan to someone in the world of Dbz and it doesn't work because there's no chakra.
