Not consistent story?

I thought he would change after a few chapters but I think he will still like this whole story. One piece is a story where it will look better to have some companions but in this story MC is alone and indifferent to everyone. it is quite annoying.

i don't understand why he likes to isolate himself. He needs to enjoy life. At first it's okay but as the story continues it looks like he is acting like nothing but arrogant punk.
