I think it's the difference between various breeds of snakes. While there are venomous snakes and deadly constrictors, there are also garter snakes that are only dangerous to bugs. worms, and small fish while being prey to large fish and frogs.

I can't imagine a new company sprinting in formation. The woman who always ended up behind me in formation stepped on my heels at a normal march. One misstep at a sprint, and you could have multiple casualties
