You're right; also I did say it was just in theory knowing that he'd have to put in effort with regards to technique applications. I still feel that limiting himself to a single style wasn't enough, just as he didn't limit himself to a single book to download concerning the creatures. Feels like a huge missed opportunity.

As far as I can tell .... Erik's major weakness of experience could at least have been lessened by downloading martial arts knowledge into his brain. The techniques (albeit theoretical in nature) gained from that would have been more than enough to compliment his physical attributes and offset his lack of experience. It seemed the most obvious thing to me but WTH didn't he do it?!?
