I don't think people realize how long 5 feet is for a blade. Firstly, the author is only referring to the blade with this, the handle usually adds another foot onto it. The average greatsword is around 5 feet long. Secondly, he is still 14, as we saw this upgrade, the sword will likely keep increasing with size as he improves in cultivation.

I don't know anything about sword fighting, but the fight earlier in this chapter seemed realistic and was detailed very well. This novel will be great if all the fights can keep this amount of detail.
