I guess i should start developing that arc before continuing the renaissance but since presently I wanted to add another action first before exploring the invention and renaissance. Would need to prepare the empire for that before entering the new age.

Indeed, since it was an earlier chapters, I had to have at least some assistance to help me find ideas. These repetitions were the result of it. Earlier on, I have abundance of ideas but as time goes on, it becomes much harder as I have to focus on the plot. while i did use ai, it was more to proofread my narrative rather than to use it to generate ideas, the ideas itself were purely mine, the wording however is not, i sometimes lost myself in my writing that I have forgotten some phrases or words that fits... It was inevitable since English is not my first language anyway...the idea is still there, but the delivery, doesn't quite sit... Although I used ai, it is not as if i took it word by word, i also had to rewrite and add it myself if i find the delivery doesn't fit what i had in mind... and since some of my chapters might sound offensive, using ai is not practical so i have to take time to better my delivery in the case ai cannot work as my editor. However, sometimes, i also took time to edit earlier chapters so that it doesn't seem as though as if it was ideas made from ai and not mine. I use ai purely for grammar checking and fix the phrase i forgot.

getting there, but not yet... it would be in future volume, but not so early...giving grenades is already overwhelming, much less muskets which can easily overwhelm the present arc if written recklessly... i want to follow the order of advancement as closely to historical one as possible retaining some semblance or realism in the process.

I'm not dropping... you can read my recent thoughts and especially the author note on the synopsis to understand the current situation... I also want to keep on giving the Byzantine period story, which is my passion afterall, but life is different...i have to eat...lol (>0<)

well, the goal is not to have any form of forced relationship/simping... though there would be some accidental one made, i want to steer away from doing it... However, I do want to try to romanticize his historical relationship a bit more fictionally, because realistically, I don't know how he and his wives relationship were... But that doesn't mean I will include harem... since I believed that the Byzantine Empire marriage law at the time were quite rigid and monogamy...as for his emotion, im experimenting...though i did made it so that he'd be more attached to his comrades, but im not making him naive... since he know at the time, court intrigue were quite common and that backstabbing existed, i do not necessarily make him trust others easily... in terms of character emotion, for now, more controlled since i don't know better way to describe emotion, still trying to improve, you see...i envisioned my mc to be more straightforward, not playing around the bushes, specific and goal-oriented, not easily swayed...

thx 4 the support, i do want to hear your thoughts so far, as i had to constantly revise the chapters to improve consistency, i began to frequently went on hiatus these days to study authors of similar genre...

i did plan for future campaign to use Bulgarians as the mainstay infantry units, thx 4 the suggestion... notwithstanding their proficiency with the bows due to their traditions as both slavs and turkic ancestry... as for the turks, i still dont have determined role for them yet(for the benefits of the empire)...and cheap paper, i did mentioned it to one of the commenter which mentioned it, i planned to focus more on development after this volume...since normally, peace treaty between nations last for about 5-10 years depending on the attitudes of its rulers, i have time to spare for the development and advancement...for now, i focuses more on challenges...earlier chapters and volumes i did include developments but they were mingled with various topics that I havent properly covers...i then found out that my chapters were convulated with unnecessary info dumps which leds me to go on hiatus once more to study more authors to refer to...

Do comment on my new writing style... It has been some time now, I know some of you waited for a long time after my break(which I don't immediately return), but trust me, I have been trying on searching for better writing style, researching various aspect of the period, and ofc, reading a lot of books... In the process, I'm experimenting on what style I should adopt, dialogue narrative or descriptive narrative(which I have been doing for the previous volumes)... However, with this new style, I have to cut down a lot of words which would then extending the chapters even longer... It might take a few chapters to resolve one element of the story, but I hope it achieved satisfying ending...for now, I try for a safer method first to experiment with the style... Hope you can give me some feedbacks and sorry for my 'ghosting' from the writing...

indeed, for standing Legion to function, it has to be properly equipped and financed for expedition. In times of war, the cost of maintaining such field army cost more than medieval standing army. Notwithstanding the cost of provisions and war supplies, constant drills and training were necessary, however, during its decline, it was not due to the Legion failing military plan that brought it to end, it was its general incompetency and lack of effective communications and decline in discipline. In fact, without shadow of doubt, the Legion can still stand toe-to-toe with medieval period arms if not for the said circumstances. Various reforms were made before legion-type field army were abolished which failed miserably due to countless civil wars and loss of morale amongst the soldiers which constantly fighting against within and without conflicts. Justinian period legion were the last of its kind before it was replaced by more provincial-type arms introduced by Heraclius known as Themata. More effective in defending the empire but not so much in handling incursions. Themata were the field arms used till the end of the empire with substantial reforms made but failed to revitalized the spirits of Rome due to another lack of discipline and loss of morale. Territorial integrity slowly being chipped away by their adversaries helped little to mitigate the failing empire, with loss of finance, plagues and various issues further expediate the decline. In fact, the empire still held strong army even if they loss plenty of land, but lack of manpower and finance deemed revitalization impossible until its eventual fall. The reason why it stood tall while being surrounded by the Turks were that, they are still being feared.
