In theory it should be. Potentially the effect could be much more potent than you might think because a chaos god choose to believe the lies as such the MC could possibly even gain the traits that the lie has told he should have.

But isn’t it exceptionaly very deadly for an adult to undergo the surgery because of the fact that the implants need to grow und strengthen the body and that makes children more suitable for such because of puberty etc?

Wouldn’t it be better for him to be a mercenary. Like someone that gets hired for stuff but is not a Villain or an hero because he is on the side that hat payed him to do a job like protecting cargo or catch a villain or beat up/disstract hero’s. With that he could have more interaction with both sides and he could have like a policy of not killing the big baddies or hero’s for the sake of preserving the balance of both sides so that nether gets stronger than the other and to maintain his connection to both sides. And not upset them by killing the people that matter in a bigger picture or could still be used for other things.
