I'm giving this three stars, because I simply couldn't read more than six chapters. There are just too many mistakes and I don't mean spelling or grammar. Nami's personality is just gone and replaced to be a tool for demonstrating the Mc's "awesomeness". Stuff like that makes the story seem suspiciously chinese. So if you care about accuracy, when it comes to depicting the world of One Piece and its characters this isn't for you. Maybe it gets better, but it's too hard for me to read.
Rick Sanchez: "Don't think about it."
It always baffles me how people can read/watch One Piece and believe something like: "The marines are actually the good guys, it's just the World Government, that's forcing them." Are we reading the same Manga? The one where they kill off islands on command? Enslave people on command? Where a person, who let's his adopted grandson be executed, because he had the wrong dad, is called a hero? I get that the civilians in the One Piece world believe that shit, because they manipulate them with Fake News, but in reality they belong in a prison
First of all, you're translation is top notch. The one advise I would give, is that sometimes less is more. One example would be the incident, where he tortured a pirate worth only 89 million bellies for his treasure. There is this long and repetitive explanation for his actions (which is simply some illogical bull) and it's even said, that it took him over a week, because the pirate had such a firm will. Plus you can just feel the chinese energy oozing in, when such "grandiose" descriptions for pretty unimportant/unimpressive situations are used. In nearly every chinese fanfic I've read they try to sell the protagonist's thoughts and actions as special, when they're mostly not even mediocre. But again top quality English, you've just taken a task upon yourself, that's extremely difficult. Gambare
Man I have seen this nonsense way too often. A Harem is actually a building. People on webnovel argue about this topic way too much. There should just be a polygamy tag, so people like me (I don't read such stories) can just skip it without having to read the comments or starting the story just to stop midway.
Our teacher once told our class: "Justice is an impossible concept to achieve. If somebody kills somebody for fun, the only real justice would be undoing it, which is something nobody can." Since then i adopted this viewpoint. Same with freedom. You're never really free, you're just free of something. Words like these are mostly used (in my opinion) to manipulate people. I love your fanfic.
Well.... it's just your typical chinese ff. Just take a story (in this case OP), drop the IQ of the characters by a large margin, make them chinese, insert an overpowered character with the mentality of a mostly psychotic and arrogant teenager yet he is still admired by most people and you have it. Of course you often need to change the established rules of said world too (actually I'm surprised, that i have yet to see a chinese ff, where they use Haki for cultivation). But I have to say, this translation is readable, so if you like chinese fanfics go ahead
