He simply gave it an order, and the part about eliminating Aurelia is because her barrier was already weakened by Roman, the hawk alone doesn't stand a chance since it's not a powerful summon, Roman summoned the hawk as a distraction, but if left alone it could do damage by swooping down and attacking.
