mahoraga's technique (which he basically copied) is to adapt to any and all phenomena, that means the MC really told is father a hugely nerfed version of what he can do, adapting to any and all phenomena is a really extensive concept, like adapting to cursed techniques, adapting to natural disasters or adapting to human made weapons, everything is possible

no problem bro, anyways each time I read this novel I get a feeling of "thy shalt not steal" (ancient/formal English as to speak) cause in WN I've hardly ever seen an English webnovel with this type of language (something I wanted to comment on XD not a bad thing in fact, it maybe hard to understand some parts but I can fill the gaps with logic and context)
