That if the nighmtare come from the Spell, but their is a simpler explanation, nightmare are from dream god.

More precisely, quantity was not the problem. It was just that sustaining avatars cost him essence. The Lord of Shadows remained manifested permanently, but that guy also spent most of his time inside the Fragment of the Shadow Realm. Out there, the spirit essence was rich and nourishing — unless his third avatar was battling powerful abominations, he was like a perpetual essence generator. - atome_4_0003dCommented
