Is William's sword inspired from Composite Sword in Shadow Fight 2? The sword that breaks out in fragments and works like a whip.
First of all, thank you so much for the kind words. It really means a lot! I appreciate you taking the time to ask thoughtful questions about the power system. Let me explain things one by one in a simple way: 1. How does mana consumption work between different rank skills (like EX vs. F Rank)? The key factor here is compatibility not just the skill rank. For example, Ryker can use Sacrificial Restoration (an SS-rank skill) and Sanctuary Veil (A-rank) even though he’s not at a high level yet. That’s because he’s compatible with them. As a result, They consume less mana for him compared to someone else. However, since his rank is low, these skills don’t perform at their full potential. They're limited in power until he grows stronger. Now, if someone not compatible tries to use an SS-rank skill what will happen, • It will cost 3 times more mana than usual. • The skill’s power will be significantly weaker than what it's supposed to be. There are also Universal Skills. These don’t rely on attributes like fire, water, light, etc., so anyone can use them. They're more neutral and often support-based. Like Mental Resilience 2. Are skills innate or acquired? How does that affect mana usage? Skills can either be innate or be acquired Ryker’s Sacrificial Restoration is an innate skill. Since it's naturally part of him, he’s already fully compatible with it, which means it has normal mana usage and better control. Acquired skills, on the other hand, can be risky depending on the person. If someone learns a skill they’re not compatible with, it will, •Drain more mana. •Be harder to control. •Possibly cause damage or backlash. So, whether innate or acquired, compatibility is what really matters for efficiency and mana consumption. 3. Why did Ryker choose an F-rank skill over a powerful SS-rank one? This is all part of Ryker’s long-term plan. The F-rank skill he chose is called Mental Resilience. It might look weak at first, but it’s actually very important for dealing with Eleanor and it's a growth type skill means its rank will increase. Eleanor is a psychic. So she can read minds and even control others if she wants. Ryker needed a defense against that, and Mental Resilience does that for him. It blocks psychic powers from reading his true thoughts and lets him project fake thoughts into his mind, so Eleanor can only sees what he wants her to see. So even though it’s an F-rank skill, it plays a key role in helping him manipulate the future and get Eleanor on his side. Again, Thank you for the review and I'm glad you are enjoying my novel
