Also, the back story dealing with Ishtar and Tammuz is not entirely true, as I needed to make up a few things to fit the story. Planes in on earth also prioritize safety over everything else. The tibetain plateau, the place with the highest average elevation in the world is so dangerous unless their destination inside. Nobody flies over it. The average hight of the plateau is so high that the recommended hight for emergency depressurations is lower than the plateau... Which basically mean you're either end up with people missing out on Oxigen or you'd crash into the mountains.
Kat wasn't entirely sure what that meant. Was there nothing tougher along this route? Or were the strong ones smart enough to know attacking them wasn't worth it. *It's also possible that this route was picked specifically because it doesn't step on the toes of any ancient dragons or something. I imagine that with so many deadly creatures around, flight paths are just as reliant on being safe as they are on having favourable wind conditions.
