I'm glad you realized that. You know that challenging him and speaking to him that way will not get through to him and get him to listen to you rationally. I know you love him and trying to have his back and help him but with him being the hot head in the relationship you need to be the more calm one even when you know how bad the situation is. He even tried to ask you not to speak to him like that and tried to put space between you two but you got aggressive in a situation making it worse. You both just needed to calm down and speak with each other calmly and listen to each other's side. He should have tried to de-escalate the situation better too.

I don't understand what he means by a terrible personality. It's not like he's the most evil thing walking he's just quiet and doesn't talk much cause it's hard to put into words what he really means. By telling him he has a terrible personality all the time makes him think there's something wrong with him and that he needs to change it. When there is NOTHING WRONG with him and he just needs to get more confident in himself and more comfortable in his own skin. This just really bothers me, maybe I'm a little bias.
And then there was the issue of their strained relationship. Sure, Liu Sumeng might have a terrible personality but he was able to get along with Shijie. And if he was to be honest, this whole mess was kind of his fault. - HaniiX941yrCommented
