well all the fanfics that I have read were free except for a few of them where the only chapters that need to paid for in patreon are 18+ . Not to mention that while i know that most fanfics have patreon except that we can pay for them in patreon if we want advanced chapters and such.

it's not about being poor and all. Its'sjust why should I put my money in a fic i don't even know properly. Anybody will be irritated after seeing that there are more than a 100 chapters in a work based on their favourite game or movie only to find out that there are only one or two actual chapters in there and the rest are just for traffic purposes. I mean it's a fanfic if it was novel it would have been different because most novels and not free but it is not a novel. Why even post about joining a patreon again and again on without actual chapters in such a platform. These things should be done in social media apps.(Well this was my honest opinion (more like a rant), don't know about others tho)
