This world was divided into a noble hierarchy. Nobles ranked Baron or higher had the right to build their own castles and rule as lords over tens of thousands of subjects. Earls held far larger domains, spanning dozens of kilometers and governing anywhere from tens to hundreds of thousands of people. In fact, any territory ruled by a noble of Earl or above was considered a kingdom, with the Earl himself acting as its king.

Why not get more kids?
The third and final person was a boy named Kael. He looked like an ordinary thirteen-year-old, though he had just turned eleven. The only thing that stood out about him, besides his height, was his face. Undeniably handsome, but utterly devoid of emotion. His brown hair was messy. His brown eyes, calm, even emotionless, fell on the letter in his hand. This letter was expected and didn't cause the storm of feelings currently raging in his parents.
