I'd say I like these chapters because you can see the growth in the characters' relationship, but as they said in Karate Kid: Wu Ji Bi Fan... too much of anything isn't good, and in this case, too many chapters of this can get a little tiring, at least in my opinion.

I don't understand how the passage of time works in this novel. Even a few chapters back, it mentions that it's taken him "weeks" to get used to something that actually only started a few days ago, or at least that's what it seems like reading so far.
