It's not that he didn't want to make the duke feel better, but honestly, it wasn't his responsibility. The effort should come from the duke, not the other way around. Clearly, the duke was more interested in wallowing in self-pity than trying to improve the situation.

Should he create one? And then make it popular? That way, if the general really pursued Aster, the latter wouldn't be so surprised. The same would apply to the public. It would be a way to desensitize people to the possibility of the general being with Aster.

Once again, he was glad that he picked Polaris. No, should he say that he was glad Ellis 'chose' him? Like, if the other didn't show interest in him, he probably wouldn't be able to be part of Polaris that fast.
