They must be doing this on purpose. It's literally worse than google translate.
They have been getting away with low-effort MTL until now. This novel's translation seems to be Webnovel first experiment in purposefully making it worse than Google Translate.
Worse than MTL. Raws + google translate has been more clear and consistent with the realms.
No, this might just be the first time the translation is actually correct. The MC is not in the second/middle "stage" of qi realm, which would be level 4 to 6. He's literally only at the second "level". The raws + google have been consistent here: "With low-grade spiritual roots, coupled with the outer peak environment, and being reluctant to use spiritual sand and spiritual stones, it took three years to go from entry level to the second level of Qi training. "
Trash translation: Raw + google: "As for Han Yi, he had to break through to the third level of Qi training first, and he couldn't rush it for a while."
He's neither. In the raws this paragraph reads like this: "It had been three years since he joined the Xuan Dan Sect, and he had just started practicing Qi and reached the second level of Qi training. It can be imagined that the path to becoming an immortal was indeed difficult for him."
I've read straight-up MTL that was more consistent than this trash here. It's truly ridiculous. I was just about to say that this must be a problem with the author because even MTL wouldn't make such mistakes, but that doesn't seem true either. Even google translating the raws is more consistent than this "translation". It says he's at "Second level of Qi training" throughout. The same goes for the alchemy "rank". In the raws it starts at "beginner" and becomes "a first glimpse at the door" after a few chapters. Not great, but at least consistent.
Do you mean the "_1" comes from the raws? I've seen a few novels like this and just assumed Webnovel's MTL script broke and they don't bother to fix it. Still, this shows how little effort is put into this.
The titles are already inconsistently translated later, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is just low-effort MLT trash. A single person just reading through it to fix stuff like this is just not worth it, apparently. Plus there are all the "_2", which are appearing a lot lately. In some novels, every chapter title ends with "_1". Whatever script they are using together with their MTL stuff seems broken.
At least it's close. Better than when he called him Michael ...
Don't worry, he liked comments pointing out mistakes, I'm sure he's just about to fix them...
Since you are already here commenting, why not edit the mistake that has been pointed out by others already? Or is one (1) silver coin really one (1) iron coin?
At some point? Sure, but right now we don't need to know all (most) of this. Introducing it a bit at a time, when it's needed makes a lot more sense. If you do it like this most people aren't going to remember it anyways. It reminds me of some game-like story I read: Almost at the beginning the author decided to list off all 15-20 item rarity levels. That was just ridiculous...
"When His Majesty comes back, not only will he be beheaded, ..." The translation sure is something...
This is so stupid. If it was a bigger "event" in the story, playing his role might be a good idea to stay with the script, but this? As a character with supposedly only 2 mentions? The butterfly effect of him having ice magic is probably going to change a lot already. Let me guess: This time the guy interested in the girl isn't going to ignore the mc, which gets him even more involved in the "main story". I think I'm done here.
How convenient...
