Are we making bets on the lucky lady who bedded the jovial, red-headed Knight?
Remember when these two were so shy and guarded? Just look at them now!
Homie, do NOT eff up a girl's makeup!
Does homeboy have eyes in the back of his head?
Ruth! Quit reading her mind! Side-Note: I very much imagine Ruth being played by Dan Levy if they ever make a live-action version of this story (just don't sell it to HBO, please!)
A Riftan AMA would be fascinating
Agnes being a protective, pragmatic older sister to Maxi❣️
Maxi is so intelligent, so empathetic, and rose above the role ascribed to her: no wonder she sees the humanity in and empathizes with everyone, these poor dragonians. She knows that they, like her, were given a role by an evil entity, and now the poor woman is wracked with guilt and would be in the minority in her beliefs.
I noticed that as well. As mad as he is at his nephew for peacing out, I think he's also mad that the Tower's rules came between him and his nephew. I hope we get to learn more about their relationship. Also, Ruth mentioned in Riftan's prequel chapters that he's much older than he appears. I always got the vibe that Ruth was a surrogate grandfather to Riftan and later Maxi.
That didn't sit right with me either. For some reason I expected the Tower to be more scrupulous. Then again, the only truly uncorruptible folks in this book are Maxi, Riftan, and Uly.
I'm glad that Agnes trusts Maxi and genuinely believes her to be talented and capable.
