I don't think there's any conspiracy about it... Xara is just a normal mother. She didn’t treat him differently just because he seemed like a threat or because of Delphine's words. She treated him like everyone else. Look, she only got curious because he had no ego when she first saw him, and she never taught him any kind of morals. What could an egoless person even understand? She fed him like a mother, that's all. And I think you're seeing this from Aether’s or someone else’s perspective. Try looking at it from a mother’s point of view. She had her own child, and then a stranger suddenly appeared, trying to kill them all. What do you expect her to do? Kill him? Obviously, that would be the answer for most women if their family was threatened. But she didn’t. She believed Delphine and left the house, thinking maybe she was the cause. Maybe it was because she was the only one showing care, which could be why Delphine saw everyone else killed—except Xara. So, she had two choices: either kill him or leave. Naturally, she grew attached to the egoless boy, who seemed like a child, so she left the house for a better future. And about Kai... well, no mother would want their child to suffer that kind of fate—becoming egoless. Even if she hated him, no mother would want to see that happen, especially after witnessing what Aether went through. She didn’t want that for her child.
