This is my first novel review, and I'm sincere, not a bot. I even love the Lord of the Mysteries but never rated it! This novel is a hidden gem. Don't take it too seriously. While it uses a standard cultivation power system, the leveling seems fast-paced and is genuinely funny. (foundation establishment at ch 30) The humor is subtle and well-foreshadowed; the author doesn't just throw in jokes but plants them carefully, making the payoff much funnier. There are even implicit inside jokes between characters. The MC is talented, but not overwhelmingly so, acknowledging that there are 'heavens above heavens.' He's mischievous, and so is everyone else. (its a situation where everyone else isn't an npc they all seem like the main characters)in The character design is top-notch, capturing how I'd imagine cultivators who defy the heavens to be: looking down on others, not just because of power, but because of a perceived 'misery' or lack of perspective. The characters have unique temperaments that go beyond simple descriptions like 'pretty' or 'handsome'; their speech and thought processes are broader than those of ordinary people. I wish more cultivation novels were like this. At the very least, it's a great book to pass the time, but for me, it's peak comedy. The only other novel I can think of that compares is 'My Senior Brother is Too Steady. alas, the world background was info dump didn't like that lol. also, he apparently is a transmigrator, but we don't get to know too much. Also, as usual, the great xia empire and Chinese propaganda are slightly there. Like this or comment if want me to update my review
Ask Any Questions here, I will reply as fast as I can... "Monarch of Principalities" is an enthralling journey through a world teeming with political machinations, power struggles, and complex characters. This web novel is a must-read for fans of epic fantasy with a richly developed setting and intricate plotlines. The protagonist's evolution is a highlight of the story. As Marcellus navigates the treacherous waters of the political landscape and Mysticism, his transformation from a commoner to a formidable power is a testament to the depth of character development woven throughout the novel. The power system in "Monarch of Principalities" is akin to that in 'The Lord of the Mysteries,' offering a fresh and intriguing approach to magic and abilities. The intricate explanations and analogies used by the author(me) make these complex concepts accessible to a varied audience, striking the perfect balance between clarity and depth. The ensemble cast of characters adds layers of complexity to the narrative, each with its motivations, secrets, and moral ambiguities. However, it's worth noting that this novel's focus lies on development and progression rather than providing immediate closure or conclusions. Readers should be prepared for a story. In conclusion, "Monarch of Principalities" is a dark and gritty piece, offering a compelling blend of political intrigue, character development, and a unique power system. If you're a fan of Star Wars or Game of Thrones you'll this novel. To finish up I want to say I was inspired by the peak fiction Lord of the Mysteries. oh and yeah some inspiration from shadow slave... Warning; some horror elements, some gore, some sex scenes, yeah so don't read it if you are scared. No Harem, No Edgelord, The next question is usually, Is the mc OP? why would I write about a lame character as my MC? Marcellus is op or will be He is a commoner so he will not be splitting oceans and breaking mountains in the first volume. There is indeed romance, though it's intentionally subtle, woven into the story in such a way that it might elude casual notice, adding an element of surprise and depth for those who pay close attention. Lastly, when it comes to the moral disposition of the protagonist, all I can say is that the MC is inherently kind, yet... Please support my novel or don't honestly I don't care anymore, I have no expectations for you, snivelling... Ok ok, I am joking haha as long as you enjoy it. Of course, if I have 20 reviews I'll do a mass dump. I genuinely hope this novel is all I promised it to be. I realize I made some mistakes earlier on in some chapters. I will fix them as I read through them again; however, I'd appreciate it if you could point them out if you come across any. (I've read it four times now, If I read any more I'll die from cringing;)
Sure I would make a wiki but... I don't know how...
