I’m thinking he wasn’t asleep for only on night. My guess is that it has been months.

I absolutely loved this book! It was super well-written and the pacing was great. The only critique I have is that I wish it had been one more chapter so that we could learn what happened to Amaara.

I struggle with this because Sophie thought she was a widow and Karenina is an unwed daughter of a noble. There’s a lot of shame associated with that and it’s very public. Sophie was able to marry well, and she was lucky in that regard but Karenina is effectively bringing shame to the family. I just don’t think it’s fair for him to compare them because they are very different people with different wants, needs, and emotions. This is obviously putting aside Karenina’s machinations, which are BS, but Nicholas doesn’t know that.

She doesn’t seem so bad. Naive, yes, but I hope she gets her own happy ending.
