Im pretty sure this isn't how the law works, lawyers are open minded people who try to do the best for their client so even if they know the client is guilty they wouldnt tell. The fact that the friends all betrayed him for no reason makes no sense as well since they could just blame a person they dont know for that matter and im pretty sure even if the president commits things like he would probs get arrested for multiple charges. The story in here is unrealistic even if one of the friends father is influential or a police chief or smth like that they could actually still get arrested because of the law. Some people make judges unfair but they are trained to look at all evidence and give a reasonable sentence as well as be fair to the person accused. It is possible thpugh for a judge to be corrupt but that is pretty rare as they are trained to abide the law no matter what. This is just my opinion and one can improve so make things a bit more realostic sometimes
