This novel is okay. There's nothing particularly impressive. It's about a transmigrator with a talisman cheat that allows him to get an ability after mastering certain things. It also has some abilities that are not explqined like observing a meditation technique and comprhending it. He's on his way to the number one cultivation school. Where he has to pass a test and learn to cultivate etc...The MC isn't great he seems to get lucky with little agency and low ambition, it feels like he's just going through the motions without any goals of his own. His friend also seems to be a crutch. However, the background and storytelling are done well. Although I'm not sure that I'm going to continue reading give it a try maybe it'll be for you.
I get why a lot of people rated this novel so low. However, this novel is actually one of the best newcomers. I understand that it sucks that the chapters were locked so early but this is genuinely worth reading. That is not to say that it's worth supporting a greedy translator, but just wait for it to be posted on a "special site". Or do what I do just go on Google Chrome put in the translated Chinese name and read the Google Chrome translated version. It's only like 5-10% worse than this version. You can also command a then paste it on a text-to-speech reader and listen to it while multi-tasking, you get way less caught up on the details. This novel really is worth reading.
Not worth the time ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
This author sucks. He drags a simple fight out for 4 chapters. Literally, the whole time he was explaining how all the bad guys were feeling the then when the fight starts the whole thing ends in 4 sentences. This is an author who is trying to increase word count for money. Literally 40% of the novel is irrelevant useless information. The author spent nearly 10 chapters on a side story where all the characters end up dead. It brought no new information just wasted space. However, the first 50 ch were pretty good.
I really liked this novel for the first 70-ish chapters, but then it became too boring. The MC's golden finger is too OP and the story practically turns into a slice of life with everything he wants or needs being placed on his lap. The pacing becomes too slow and the story loses its appeal of accumulative slow but steady growth.
So I dropped at chapter 50. I don't mind the cliches. I don't mind the bad grammar or inconsistencies. I don't even mind how predictable and op the MC's golden finger is. However, I absolutely can't stand the mc. Not only is he super arrogant but he's also so cringy that I found myself honestly rooting for the villains. I do like his sense of agency and independence, but not enough to continue.
I liked this at first but the more I read the more I couldn't help but feel how the mc is a hypocrite. The MC is this good guy who wants to help the common good and hates evil. Yet he stays with a villainous family that kills millions to keep and grow its power. It just rubbed me the wrong way so i had to drop.
I really don't like the Mc. He's just not likable to me. The first person he met who was a little stronger than him he wanted to worship as a master. No questions no nothing. He just seems like a sheep to me, and I prefer independent, self-reliant MCs who take agency and try to learn things themselves.
It's really not that good. Other than just being boring. The MC is naive and gets taken advantage of easily. Also, it's not very immersive nor does it have any vivid descriptions. I feel like I'm being told a story instead of shown a story. It's a 2.6\5 for me
I have no idea how this novel has such high ratings. Yes the premise is interesting and the start had good potential, but the execution is lacking. It is predictable cliche and cringy. The dialogue between some of the characters sounds like that of children, trying to act cool and tough, especially between the MC and Blaze. Furthermore, there are plot holes so early on in the story. Not to mention the number of filler chapters so early on in the novel. Also personally I'm not a big fan of first-person narratives. The writing quality isn't good at all, yes it's legible but it reads like a young teenager wrote it.
I really liked the start. He has a gold finger that doesn't really interfere too much. It gave him immortality from natural causes and kept track of his skills and whatnot. He's also a lowkey person who slowly gets stronger secretly. It also wasn't too one-sided because he could still die of other things like hunger or being killed. Anyway, he hunted and set up some traps for gangsters to get some money. However, after making a fortune the story took a turn for the worst, it became a slice of life he would train read eat go to the brothel then repeat however. It still wasn't too bad. What made it bad was when he risked his life for a stranger and then took on that stranger's kid as a disciple. That was when I lost interest in the novel because he took on undo responsibility for no reason, He even risked his life for a person he only met like 5 times and only to buy medicine from.
Although the premise is good the story and characters aren't. The MC is really unlikable and the plot is predictable and cliche, not to mention boring. Mc is just one of those people who even though he's the strongest person in the city he won't even leave his courtyard for safety. It doesn't make sense to me because he's clearly strong enough to catch demon beasts faster and become stronger faster he even saves the town multiple times but still he just stays home and goes to work and can only use his cheat once in a while. Its too boring and slow-paced.
It's not bad just not for me. This MC is too much of a Gary Stu. Not only that but it's also pretty boring and it feels like his lowkey modo is bound to fail because he just saves people when they're in danger and that puts him at risk. Not only that but he seems too attached to "Friends" who seem to just be taking advantage of him. I really just don't like the mc his kind approachable nature seems to contradict his lowkey goals and I'm not a fan.
