Ciara_Brack1yrPostedAbsolutely one of the best books I've read! The consistency of the storyline, the character development, the action, everything was amazing! One of my favorite things is that in between all of the action, the author really provoked our feelings. Not too many books touch on depression in a way that makes it seem like the reader is not alone but this author did. The writing style was simplistic enough to keep the attention of the reader but complex enough to make you feel like you were transported imto the book. I felt like I was right there in the action and we really get to fall in love with the characters. 100/10 would ABSOLUTELY read again!

The guard was extremely scared to share the news he had for Grim. His palms began to drip with sweat, and he could feel his heart racing as Grim stared a hole through him. Grim noticed the tears in the guard’s eyes, to his own agitation, and decided to approach the conversation in a calmer manner. “Alright, fool, just relax. I’m not gonna hang you from your intestines like I did your crew member last week. As Alex connected her phone to the stereo system, she logged into an app that contained the library of her favorite music. Obviously, she knew she couldn’t play anything from today’s generation out of respect for her elders. This is gonna be good. I love anything where someone has the ability to control an element or plants or anything of that nature.

Ohhhhhhh snap
Hastily, Mason approached the dying rose bush in the center of the garden and kneeled down in front of it. He then looked around and made sure no one else could see what he was doing. Taking a deep breath, he placed his hand on top of the soil holding down the roots of the bush and concentrated on the flowers of the bush. With the blazing Florida sun beating down on his brown skin, a drop of sweat slid down his face as he focused all of his energy into the plant. Soon enough, leaves began to sprout on the empty branches of the bush and the roses transitioned from a gloomy brown state back to their healthy pink and red shades! With these cold thoughts clouding his head like a winter storm, Mason couldn’t help but stare outside the backseat window of his mother’s ginormous Cadillac and get lost in the world on the other side of the glass. He was hypnotized by the sight of the highway trees zooming past the vehicle while he had his headphones on. There were only two things in this world that could ease the damaged mind of a thirteen-year-old Mason Corpse: admiring nature as the beautiful mechanism that it was and the angelic sound of his favorite musician, April LaQueen. Zoning out from reality, he completely forgot that he was in a car filled with his entire family and their luggage on a road trip to his grandmother’s house in Florida.
