That led to the steep decline in infant mortality. Childbirth is no longer considered dangerous. Because the mother consumes high amounts of nutritious food during the pregnancy, both the mother and the child usually survive with no complications. In fact, in my world women can easily give birth four or five times without any problems, with all the children safely reaching adulthood.

Did you not watch Game of Thrones? Eddard Stark read books written in English language (the common language) as did Shireen Baratheon and Ser Davos. Eddard even wrote in English
She took the envelope carefully with both hands. Looking at the purple wax seal bearing the Hogwarts coat of arms for a moment, she took out the letter and read it along with her mother. After both of them had read the two page letter thoroughly, they gave it back to me.

Again, this is a Game of Thrones fanfic, not a ASOIAF one. I liked Varys' character in the show. I haven't even read the books. At the rate Martin in going, he won't be finished before I'm old and grey.
I gave the man an honest smile. Varys was one of my favourite characters in the show. He was a survivor, did what needed to be done, wasn't cruel and worked for the good of all. His only flaw was that he would rather work around his employer than confront them head on about their wrongs. And that's what got him roasted in the end.

[Just to be clear, this is a Game of Thrones world with some extra elements from the books. I repeat, this is NOT a ASOIAF fanfic. I don't mean to judge, but G.R.R. Martin can be quite extreme. Did you know that in the books Daenerys was only 13 years old when she was basically sold as a broodmare to Khal Drogo? What the hell, man?!]

No good deed goes unpunished. This was certainly the case for Benjamin Kirby, who saved a young life & lost his in the process. But fear not! Thanks to a conscientious benefactor, Ben gets a second shot at life in a far more interesting world. Now, armed with Ancient Magic of the Gods, watch as our intrepid protagonist delves into the secrets of magic, builds artifacts and cities, & travels through the Omniverse, making friends and enemies alike. This is my first attempt at writing a fanfic (or anything for that matter). English is not my first language, but there shouldn't be too many mistakes. The story will focus on magic, exploration, kingdom-building, with romance as subplot. Update Schedule - Wednesdays and Sundays (2 chapters/week)
