I feel like meeting characters you enjoy reading about would be pretty bad. Like, they might be fun to read about and cool on paper but interacting with them on a regular basis would probably be mind numbing.
'I should probably get that overpowered cheat as soon as I can, so I could start training seriously. The main plot will start a year from now in the [Arcadia] academy which is also the first-ranked academy in the whole nation. It seems that I'm of the same age as the protagonist and the other main cast so there isn't any harm in getting admitted into the academy after all. I won't try to meddle much into the plot but if a need arises then I wouldn't hesitate to do so either because I couldn't honestly care less about the plot. Maybe I should also try making some connections with the main cast huh? A lot of them are rich kids of the leaders of those top clans so there's no harm in getting close to them right? I feel like master balls would be kinda messed up on the inside if it guarantees a 100% catch. Luxury balls seem the comfiest in general, but type specific balls would be nice too.

In game they keep the boost after the pokerus is cured, idk about this world though.
The beneficial thing about Pokerus is that when a Pokemon has it or is cured from it, it gains double the effort values from battling. Every Pokemon will gain an increase in stats from winning a battle, but with Pokerus, the increase is doubled. It makes a little sense in the Pokémon world though, you have natures and IV spreads which really impact Pokémon strength.
