All of Yoshioka's original students stood in fresh Jujutsu High uniforms, black jackets, skirts or trousers, each uniform brand new. The only outlier was Zaimozuka, and Shigeo, which their uniform looked just like the normal one they wear, and Lala, who wasn't wearing the uniform

Traditional Japanese houses, low roofs, engawa porches, sliding shoji screens, arranged around a wide central courtyard of raked gravel and carefully placed stones. Cherry trees lined the perimeter, still young but already blooming out of season. A faint shimmer in the air marked the barrier around the school
