Totally saw this coming!! Maxi was gonna be going somehow and Riftan always has Maxi radar on so OF COURSE Riftan prepared to go!!

I absolutely love the fact that Riftan is so in love with Maxi that no other woman is good enough at all, and holds no competition to Maxi!!!

This unfamiliar emotion is Riftan completely in love!! As good as Riftan is of a knight he is no match for Maxi winning his heart!!
It came to a point where he was able to locate her in the vast castle with little effort. He could pick up her footsteps and soft voice from a distance, and he even developed a knack for immediately grasping the meaning of her stuttered words. It was as though his senses existed solely for her. Just a glimpse from afar was enough to set his nerves on edge. Without question!! This is exactly what Riftan did! He will never think twice about it, if even having to think about it at all, it is just pure instinct in Riftans heart to do whatever needs to be done to save Maxi!

Of course it is Riftan to save Maxi!!! Elliott was trying so hard but, of course Maxi went and did something and it did work, but got herself hurt as well and now Riftan shows up in time to save her!!! Riftan is freaking out so bad and Maxi can hardly breath! This was just like in book 1 when her horse ran off scared when they were traveling, Riftan saved her from a monster and held her so tight out of fear he was honing to loose her, and Maxi was struggling to breath…. Riftan will always save her no matter what!!!!!!!

With Riftans feelings and his background that make him act the way he does toward others, the way Ruth broke the rules in order to save Riftans life I think was a big deal for Riftan to Have to see! I don’t believe Riftan would have ever trusted Ruth as he does now if Ruth had never gone out of his way to save Riftan!

I agree! I believe Riftan feels responsible for Maxi being in this position, Maxi never would have left at all if she had not chosen it to save Riftan from losing everything. Riftan is completely vulnerable when it comes to Maxi, so in order to keep himself from breaking down Riftan has a wall up.
