I really like that the author decided to write a kashimo fic, haven't seen that done before. The writing has also been accurate to canon so far with how abilities work. I also liked that there hasn't been any system/cheats yet, sure the MC is strong, almost op. But kashimo is supposed to be strong so it adds up. The issue though is that it has been kind of boring the first 50 chapters, I feel like not that much has happend. I also don't really like the MC so far. I understand what the authors is going for but so far the whole cold wandering warrior hasn't clicked for me, he just feels boring. I also hoped the romantic subplot would have been handled differently. Maybe something similar to Uraume and Sukuna. Not necessarily a reltionship but something. That said the story still has potential and the next part of the story whem the MC is incarnated will probably make or break the fic.
The dialogue is written strangely. Always pausing constantly and speaking in small sections, like this example. "…Wait a minute." His gaze sharpened slightly. "…This is… a Heroic Spirit's ability." His breath caught for a moment. "So what exactly does this system want to make me… a Magus or a Heroic Spirit?" Found it annoying to read.
Slave system that forces MC to act like he's in LOTR, just akward.
The mc and fmc is probably going to end up together. But Xu Feng's behaviour the last 30 chapters doesn't make sense for me. He is a schemer and manipulator who understands people well, and he was a playboy his former life. Yet he is going around being dense, or leading the girls on. Both I find distasteful. It's technically nothing wrong with him acting this way, since he isn't in a relationship yet. But it feels very poorly executed considering the mc and fmc has been interacting for more than 1000 chapters and suddenly he is making out with actresses that has been around for 30 chapters in front of the fmc. I don't know what the reason behind this is, other for the author to show the mc is popular. The future of the novel looks bleak to me, which really is a shame cause I really enjoyed until the drama show arc started.
*spoiler* I agree, the novel was very enjoyable. But the recent arc has ruined it for me. I really liked the banter between Xu Feng and Carmen, there was a good slowburn romance developing. But then mc decides to reveal his cool wind identity to the world?? I understand that vanguard are the strongeat in the divine world, but in the real world they are weak. it feels strange that Xu Feng hasnt been targeted by assassins or schemes. The most baffling part is that he revealed it to film a drama where he makes out with girls? It feels like the author is ruining the slowburn that has been built up so far.
