Disclaimer: this is just my personal opinion, please don't misunderstand me, I love this book very much. As an old time fan of the Might and Magic series, this novel gave me an extremely pleasant surprise. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine reading a system novel where the mc interacts with characters from those old ass games I love. If you are a fan of HoMM or Darksiders, this novel will instantly become one of your favorites. However, even if you never heard about them, you will still end up thoroughly enjoying it, as the author uses all system tropes to perfection and you finally feel like the mc listens to you when you scream at him to use his godlike system in a smart way. It is very generic and does not bring about anything new or challenging, but everything the novel sets up to achieve, it does so with perfection. If The Lord of Mysteries is an A class novel, this is the absolute best B class novel I've ever read. It's a damn shame the updates are not regular but every couple of months it's a treat to read up on the new chapters

Love this book a lot! From worldbuilding to comedy and character development, everything is done masterfully! I only have 2 very very minor issues: since the author does not dwell on characters' appearances after they are introduced, i.e. hair colour, eye colour, build etc, I have no clue what the characters look like. It's not an actual issue, since I just imagine them in my head anyways, just a personal preference. My second issue is that I'm almost caught up and I still don't know why tf it's called First Order

that he was snooping around the sewers? doing what exactly? if he had a tacit understanding of sorts with the church or if he knew any member that could pass along the information sure, but since his only contacts are a musician and a knight squire who from what I understand is pretty low on the pecking order, he is pretty much on his own

I'm super tired of the "church bad" cliche so I hope the author doesn't go this route. I do have hope though, since he also wrote Lord of Misteries( fantastic series, highly recommend it) and the churches there were not necessarily good or evil, they had their own set of rules so they could be allies or foes depending on the situation. I hope this book also goes on this route, where the church is a developed entity that has its own stance and can compromise in some ways, for example accepting freelancers if it aligns with the church's agenda. It's still too early to tell how much of a role the church plays in the story, but I'm excited

his motivation makes sense though, especially since he has always been vengeful. I don't like it either, would much rather get 100+ chapters of Lith chilling in the desert with the squad, but returning to the kingdom to deal with Meln is the only narrative sound decision. Whether he then remains in the kingdom to deal with Thrud and continue living there forever is another business entirely, and I hope to Mogar and all 7 guardians he doesn't, but we'll just have to wait and see. Honestly I'd much rather him stay in the desert, or even the empire, since apart from the new host Baba Yaga's last child picked up(can't remember his name) there has been virtually 0 empire content for a loooong time, even including the empire vs lich war, or better said skirmishes

100% agreed, Thrud stopped being average evil conqueror a long time ago and I would be genuinely fine if she won the throne. Right now everything is very uncertain since we also don't know the council's response to Lith's situation(council member basically exposed + losing one of their key people involved in the kingdom-council communication) everything depends on how the next 10-15 chapters go down

I'm pretty sure guardianhood means automatic white core, or whatever guardian cores are since they are supposed to be better than normal white cores iirc. the cat guardian(srry forgot her name) instantly lvld up to white so I guess that's the general rule

maybe the other one will get released in a couple of minutes

everyone commenting on hoping the kingdom loses and tbh I kinda agree, if not for the fact that as of now Thrud and Orpal are kind of the final bosses. At this point, even if a war erupts between the other 2 kingdoms after the War of Griffons is over, Lith has no stake in it since he has been branded a traitor and will most likely be in the desert with grandma Salrak. The Organization is in a pretty chill spot as far as I can tell, furthering their progress into bringing abominations back to life, the other continent is obliterated. I also doubt a 3rd continent will be introduced at this point. Apart from some whacky council missions involving some mid bosses like the whole arc with tyrant daddy, I don't see much else happening, especially considering Lith's power level as a violet core divine beast. I'm assuming either a timeskip of a couple of years is coming soon in order to introduce some new threats and further Lith's progress to bright or at least mid lvl violet core and a general upgrade for the whole crew, maybe the griffon war has reached a stalemate or whatever blah blah, or the series will end soon.( by soon I mean 100-200ish chapters in order to wrap up everything)
