He remembered that he had to spend an entire day making blueprints when he was first trying to make his bat-tool. When Tom and Druella arrived at the school, they went to the great hall for the sorting and dinner. Charlus was sorted into Gryffindor as most of his family was. The potters are a fairly prominent Noble family, so getting a Potter in Gryffindor was good news to the house. Dumbledore seemed quite happy about the whole thing. Other than Charlus, a few other notable people were sorted into Hogwarts. Walburga Black was sorted into Slytherin. Even as a child she looked like she has a stick up her *ss. Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and Luna looked quite eager to learn it, while Ron already lost interest probably because he would have to read. Especially Harry since he hated Snape and didn't like that he could read his mind. And Matthew had no problem if they became more capable, they would keep more of Voldemort s focus on themselves. And Matthew could stay in the Shadow. As for Riddle's Diary learning it, it was as good as dead. It will only exist until the end of the year. Does Snape have a better understanding of the dark arts than dumbledore ? I don't think so
All in all, I've learned a few things about the Patronus Charms, firstly size doesn't matter. Second evil Wizards are unable to cast the Charm or it will attack themselves, but only evil wizards not practitioners of the dark arts in general. Dumbledore practiced the Dark arts in the past and has no Problems with casting it. The most prominent example would be Professor Snape himself, he has a deeper understanding of the dark arts than Dumbledore and used them frequently but was still able to cast the Patronus charm, he is also rather of a neutral alignment than good. - Ishan_Doshi11mthCommented
