(SPOILER ALERT) I find this to be a similar parallel to when Maxi had to leave for the Mage Tower: she couldn't put RDK and Anatol at risk even though she really wanted to stay with Riftan. After having read this I think he should have been more understanding of her decision, since he too knows whats kind of rationality it takes to come to this conclusion
