to be more fair, here he died against respectable jounins of the leaf, in the anime he died against a chuunibyou renegate of the leaf, he for sure wouldn't like to die against that chuuni and moody sasuke, it would be such disshonor

i just read the wiki because i also was bothered by this but this is right. yhe izanagi consumes 1 sharingan per use, but, if the user recreates the sage of the six pack's chakra then they can prolong their use, in the case of danzo, thanks to him having senju's cells and chakra that make's him able to use it during 1 minute per sharingan, so in this case imagine that he died all those time under 1 minute (gai is such a beast XD), so yeah, this fanfic is right atbthe moment. bonus: in the wiki it also says that you can recuperate your lost sight with a rinnegan wich basically recreate the six path sage's chakra in almost his totallity
