I'm loving the start of this story so far. Dear Autho, pls write the story as you please while not gifting obvious plot armor to any character especially not the mc. People will like your story and some won't . Thats's ok. Some people dislike "Shadow Slave", yet iIlovw that novel too. I like the fact that this story of yours isn't the "Chinese cultivation" type story.
I actually like it because: 1. It helps JskManga to write up interesting ways he overcomes problems he encounters without resorting to brute force. 2. Raze is just willingly taking up weights for his training. The weights being his "illness". When he's eventually healed his overwhelming strength would then be undisputable and not be attributed to plot armor. Raze is just showing his past exoperiences as 9 star mage. So all in all, JskManga did a perfect job.
@JksManga, I've read most of your books on webnovel (i don't think there's any that i missed). But it seems to me that the timeline of the events of this werewolf story isn't really agreeing fully with the established plot of my vampire system and my dragon system. How are Altered a thing when in the time of the Vampire System era they are almost totally unknown? And | think you said MVS comes after MWS. Also, there is no explanation for the speaking of the same language by the gods, aliens and humans. Those are the main issues to me. Otherwise, great Job, boss.
I have read so many novels on webnovel and other platforms and I can tell you that if I were to grade each book I've read, Shadow Slave can be considered one of the best. The plot and everything is original, very few obvious English Grammer, punctuation or spelling errors and best of all: the story doesn't mess with its power scaling within its universe. The power scaling is consistent. I don't need an MC that's so much more over powered than others in the verse for no other reason than that he's the protagonist. That gets old fast. It also reduces my ability to suspend disbelief. Now I have observed that some individuals are hung up on the "Slave" part of the story. So my question to those people is why the fkk did you pick this book to read even with it's title it bothers you? Secondly, I don't see the MC as a true slave. He basically does his own thing. He can only be FORCED to do Nephis bidding if she explicitly commands him. Ignoring the fact we haven't seen any reason to believe Nephis would misuse that power she has over him, the concept of a flaw had been introduced to us. It is something which even the gods in the verse have and that in my opinion should have settled your disappointment with the plot since it was established that all awakened creatures must have flaws. We should rather be rooting for him as he finds out how to escape fate eventually. So even if Nephis was a cruel master and we know she isnt't, his "slavetry" is not really conflicting with any part of the plot. If you still actively feel the author should just drop the slavery plot in the book for no reason especially when doing so would break the already established story line, then by all means leave the book, ITS DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU.
What else can I say other than i love the book? I can't believe it's in a place like webnovel. The quality is too good. It's up there with Supreme Magus, My vampire system and a few others I've read. I recommend to anyone not just looking for a generic novel with equally generic characters. I especially love the consistency in the power scaling
