At this point, you're probably wondering what some of these strange titles mean. For instance, dominus, domini, and tiarna as in this case. These are all titles that mean lord in some form or shape. If you search them up, they all originate from certain groups, which are representative of the type of civilization that the characters in the novel come from. For reference however, dominus and domini are the main form, as the empire is modelled after ancient Rome.

The houses were stacked upon each other creating pillar-like megastructures that rose from the dark depths towards the cave ceiling.
