that's what happens when a character is named Devotion. Sometimes they can be devoted to the wrong people
Thank you for reading! Please recommend to friends if you continue to enjoy, it helps a lot!
That's still one of the large mysteries of the work that Devotion has to unravel. The word itself carries the connotation we would know it as (mostly fictional demons, or a word used to describe an evil person), but Devotion is quickly learning there's more to it than that, and you'll just have to wait and see what he learns. Appreciate you reading along this far! Hope you continue to enjoy.
You never know what scents Victor might be familiar with ;) In all seriousness though, it was just meant to be a little comedy, like Victor just happened to guess exactly what had happened.
Of Course! There's no proper weapon ranking, just magical items of different properties and effects. For cultivation, There are a total of 12 Ranks that are officially recognized and have been seen on the continent of Phimux. One starts at the First Rank, then with each advancement, goes to the Second Rank, then the Third, and so on, until they reach the Ninth Rank. When one attempts to step beyond the Ninth Rank, they enter the realm of Dukes. Directly after Ninth Rank is a Minor Duke, then a Full Duke, then a Major Duke. It's currently unknown if there is a realm beyond Major Duke, as nobody has managed to reach it yet. As for lifespan, you'll have to wait and see :). Most people of high ranks keep that information private, so it's not something the audience knows yet. Hope this helps!
I'd like to think of it as sort of a fusion. It is definitely heavily inspired by Chinese cultivation novels, but I've put much of a more western spin on things, and there are definitely more fantasy elements than martial. I guess it's yes and no?
Thank you! Tried something unique, nice to know that people enjoy it.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoy
Correct, Ghostwhisper was disguising itself as something it knew was a high-value object, hoping to be picked up by a cultivator who would understand.
Thank you for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind for future chapters! Glad you're enjoying so far :)
I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not sure where the name came from! I mention in the story that it was the first word that came to Devotion's mind, and it's also the first word that came to mine when I was naming Ysmir. I haven't done any research to see if it actually means something. Maybe I read it in a book or something a long time ago, not totally sure. Glad you're enjoying so far!
