All constructive comments are very much appreciated and I really like this one because I struggled with characterising him given how little show time he actually has. I wanted to create a complex situation with complex perspectives in that messy triangle (? rectangle? pentagon???) so I'm glad you've managed to empathise with his situation! There are quite a few characters that are neither completely good nor bad I think...well some are just bad ^^;;

Sorry I won’t be able to update until this weekend, I worked over the Easter holidays and am sadly sick now with the flu and running a high temperature (occupational hazard I’m afraid). I tried writing for a while just now but wasn’t getting very far and have decided to just take the time to rest and recover. Very good question! I guess it also depends on when the myth of dragon energy started to perpetuate (who decided to use it to start flattering their emperor lol)? The Shang king and Su Daji are from a really old era but the story about her being a fox, at least the records of it, are a lot younger (still old tho lol) I think. 🤔

Sorry if there's confusion! I'll have to look through this chapter again when editing to see how I can make it clearer. Basically, he fainted in the emperor's study and woke up in the underworld. There's a supernatural aspect to it. I hope that clarifies things somewhat without too many spoilers!
