why do authors make annoying characters for the Mc, but they don't think about how the reader also has to deal with the same annoying characters. like there's no progression for 5 chapters just cuz annoyance 1 and 2 show up and extend a 1 min convo
Just way too much info dumb first 5 chapters. Man lays in bed smoking and has all future plot points, all higher powers, a system, and the style of world introduced back to back without leaving the first room being introduced in story.
I like a lot of the story and the way it's written. But I think the whole Rainbow Island arc is a copy and rename of an arc from Chaotic Sword God. Might be other way around. Example: Beautiful musician on island that soothes a higher up of mcs sect. Has to go into dragon related area to find cure. That leads them into a space tunnel, to finally meet one of the highest known powers on the continent. Then also yin and yang energies that make the Mc take advantage of the musician. There are plenty more examples in the arc. Due to that I treat this now as junk food reading and don't take it too seriously.
From the start it feels like Theo the Mc has no actual free will. He's a train just following the boring track, and if he deviates or doesn't know what to do. BAM! System can take complete control of his actions and speech getting him into and out of situations. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth thinking that in any detrimental situation, all the mcs issues can be fixed through autopilot mode.
Literally no idea why this has so many positive reviews. Basic reincarnation story beginning and a dumb Mc. Who in less than a chapter is able to gain literally any ability just thinking about it, and somehow also being proficient in it. Nothing is earned and it's very lazy.
I'll start by saying that the writing quality is very good. But it's 99.9% conversation filler. One person can say something, and the response wouldn't come till after 8 paragraphs of partially or unrelated info. By the time you get to the response, you forget what you were waiting to hear. Also feels like the author doesn't like their Mc when you can go 5+ chapters or more without a word from them due to a convo between two random citizens talking about a new building.
Makes 0 sense why he would forgive Elliot after being tortured cuz he couldn't keep it in his pants. Very dumb writing
The writing is intentionally aggravating for the reader, and rather lazy. Mc has very little progression. Infact his personally seems to regress. Finally it's a classic, our Mc will be yelled at to do things and make no real decisions for himself while led along by angry side characters.
Why keep building up Brenda if only to make her feel cheap and easily used?
First time writing a review for a drop, at chp. 39. The Mc reiterates on and on about needing to stay low key in order to use the system he's placed in to his advantage later in the story. From the beginning though he is being taken advantage of by superiors, and handed off person to person to progress the story. When he receives rewards it feels very lack luster, in the sense that even though he talks of hard work the results feel empty. Mc wants to reach a higher position using the forging title, but by simply revealing the strength he receives from his system. He'd have been able to move into a higher position that would have taken him out of lackey status long ago.
