obviously he wouldn't use those flames on Grayfia, besides he was young and inexperienced compared to her at the time. Grayfia is said to be very strong, she has power on par with the four Satans.

Honestly Kozuki is at fault, he should've reported the spy and hiding your strength is suspicious he's only got his self to blame for this.

Now Kozuki is being an asshole, not attacking him is worse then putting him in a hospital, atleast if you attack and beat him its a less humiliating loss then your opponent making you surrender because you're too weak to make him attack.
