didn't some members of his party when he took them into the dungeon have stamina bars instead of mana bars? didn't it depend on your class/background on what energy system they used? I'm pretty sure his best friend used ki instead of mana when he was in the party?

that's true, but you also have to think he's highly specialized in transfigurations and alchemy, and do not forget in the battle between him and Grindelwald neither wanted to kill each other so both were limited probably Grindelwald more so as his we're leaning towards the kill your enemy as switly as possible angle vs Dumbledores I will control the battlefield skillset... I truly believe that if Grindelwald didn't have the emotional link to Dumbledore then he would have won that fight no problem, and Dumbledore had 30 plus years of magic knowledge on him and a larger support group and Tom almost won had it not been for Harry's birth I have no doubt Tom would have one as he was immortal gaining minions and strength every day, infiltrating his enemys camps with spies, he was clearly winning that war and it took a litteral act of god( self fulfilling prophecy, plot armor) for him to be defeated....

I think it's mostly for content, I mean other then Jacob shifters don't really get involved in the plot till 75 percent through the second book so that drastically increase the work it would take to make the first and a half books interesting content wise then again it seems like the majority of twilight fics follow the plot down to a T with the only changes being who's romancing who and even then they almost follow the same cookie cutout, like roselie romances always have the can you still love a girl who's used goods speach, or Alice is always nervous she's to outgoing or Edythe can never read mcs mind ect
