yes use a spell that rips the gun forward, in no way accidentally making it go off. why not just petrify or stun him?
Harry quickly burst into action as his wand appeared in his hand and he fired off a disarming spell followed by a summoning spell before the man could react. Since Harry moved it had taken one second for the gun to fly out the man's hand and two more seconds for it to fly into Harry's free hand. The man didn't even get a chance to protest as Harry had quickly hit him with two more spells, the first being a body bind that caused his legs to snap together as his arms snapped to his side while also causing him to lose the ability to move his body. - scyfly1dCommented

if his school has an electron microscope capable of seeing movement of atoms and houses dr connors lab, then it def has a gene sequenser. ofc in a normal world these kinds of things are heavily guarded cause it can turn the common cold into the next pandemic. but if thats the case buying the machine is riskier than stealing the 20mil pay for it

it would be the logical choice to leave. voldy would eventually break the statue of secrecy and then it suddenly is the ICW against voldy with kill orders for all his followers. so years to practice magic, an army of wizards behind him and legitimacy to kill them all, all for the low cost of britain. sounds like a good deal to me
