I believe it is because people abuse the privilege of being able to leave reviews. I stopped believing 5★ reviews because they are mostly either glazing about the author or contain nonsensical statements. So, I search for several low-star reviews (4, 3, and 2), look at their content, and determine whether or not to read them based on how legitimate and authentic they seem. However, just as 5 is the extreme I do not check, so is 1★ because they are all full of absurdities or are just hateful people without any justification or good argument.

Thank you. I did not want to drop this shit. But reading until then and seeing no deviation from canon really turned me off.
