This is a comedy. If you approach this novel expecting some grand cultivation tale. you'll be disappointed. There are as few interesting twists in the world building and classic transmigration premise, but aside from that, this essentially a comedy where an OP mc dominates wherever he goes. The comedy lies in how people interact with an unreasonably powerful figure (spoiler, they either bootlick or die), and the wacky, sometimes degenerate supporting characters. Having heard about the ending, I can safely say that no one should read this novel unless they appreciate the humor, otherwise the ending will leave them quite empty. The upper realms are not really explored, no new characters are really introduced, and No dramatic battles occur. The ending is essentially a punchline to a joke. You've been warned.
the primordial seed doesnt alter dna. It only copies different forms of matter. Ultimately, Rui is manually integrating the primordial seed and all its permutations. The Evolutionaries are able to manipulate their dna directly to adapt to their environment or opponent. So in the area of body adaptive evolution, Rui is in fact vastly inferior to Anthea. In other areas tho...?
I wish we could skip this tournament arc. Going from secret evil organizations, assasination and spy missions, dangerous relics, to world threatening Abyss then...back to college and low stakes tournaments? I'm getting whiplash.
A solid, entertaining beasttaming webnovel. Worth your time to read if your interested in this sub-genre. Any complaints about release frequency should realize that most translated novels are already finished, or half finished when they appear on this platform. Understanding this, I appreciate the consistency of the updates. Also, the design of many beasts are unique and make for interesting match ups and strategies. There is light-hearted humor throughout, which helps balance some of the darker and more bleak aspects of the plot. The character work is simple but good, especially considering how many characters are introduced. If there is anything with the most potential. but possibly the most alarming, its the world building. Since this novel isnt completed, this may end up being nothing. But whether it's the reincarnation, the system, the relics, the relationship between worlds and civilizations, and the primary antagonist, it feels like it will be tough to tie up all these loose threads. Also, it feels like the world building in the college/kingdom was sacrificed somewhat in service to the overarching threat of the primary antagonist. This shows signs of reversing, so I'm overall optimistic about the cohesion of the world building.
