Those dialogues are terribly forced, Marla just needed to be told go away and she began to question all her actions and she simply left, there was no conversation at all, I sincerely recommend that you relate the surroundings, the reactions and possible thoughts, do not do it as if they dialogues were from a video game, it takes away the realistic feeling of the story. The idea was good but the mc is pathetic, the decisions he makes are lousy without even thinking about the consequences or the general panorama of things, the events and dialogues are very forced, it's like "hey, I know a safe place to live, without monsters" and the villager says "sure let's go".
